The Complexity of Revision, Revised

چکیده
The purpose of this note is to acknowledge a gap in a previous paper — “The Complexity of Revision”, see [1] — and provide a corrected version of argument. The gap was originally pointed out by Francesco Orilia (personal communication and [4]), and the fix was developed in correspondence with Vann McGee. The main point of the argument given in [1] is to show that the Gupta-Belnap revision-theoretic system S∗ admits of an analogue of the Löwenheim-Skolem theorem for first-order logic (all notation and terminology are defined in [2]). In particular, a crucial step in the argument requires that we show the following:

REVISION OF SIGN DISTANCE METHOD FOR RANKING OF FUZZY NUMBERS
Recently, Abbasbandy and Asady have been proposed a modificationof the distance based approach, namely ``sign distance method''.However, in this paper, it is shown that this method has some drawbacks, i.e.,the result is not consistent with human intuition for specialcases and this method cannot always logically infer rankingorder of the images of the fuzzy numbers. In this paper, wepresent a re...

Introduction: Leukocytes causing a wide variety of side effects after transfusion are present in all blood products prepared by standard methods. As a consequence, the use of filter technology for leukoreduction has been widely practiced .According to AABB accreditation in 1996, leukoreduced blood components must contain less than 5×106 leukocytes per unit, but sometimes this value is higher ev...
متن کاملThe Size of a Revised Knowledge
In this paper we address a speciic computational aspect of belief revision: The size of the propositional formula obtained by means of the revision of a formula with a new one. In particular, we focus on the size of the smallest formula equivalent to the revised knowledge base. The main result of this paper is that not all formalizations of belief revision are equal from this point of view. For...
